The Challenge
Leverage data assimilated from disparate technology deployments across domains like mobility, facilities, and security to design and deploy smart city use cases.
Delivering Flagship Smart City as-a-Service Program in KSA
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia launched VISION 2030 with an aim to increase economic diversity and bolster employment opportunities for citizens.
To support the vision, our client, a large oil and gas company, launched a smarty city initiative that would leverage cutting-edge technologies to create sustainable and efficient living environments.
They needed a partner who had the experience and smart city expertise to deliver on such a large-scale initiative. With 35+ years’ experience delivering large scale transformation for global clients, Sutherland was their partner of choice.
Sutherland partnered with the client to co-develop and implement hard and soft infrastructure aligned with localization initiatives of the Kingdom’s National Transformation Program.
The Outcome
Design and Implementation of Intelligent Control Tower and Smart City Use Cases
Sutherland first conducted a digital maturity assessment of the client’s existing technology implementations, processes, and people skills.
We designed Smart City use cases aligned to the client’s UNSDG goals and Sustainability vision:
Next, we designed the to-be technology landscape integrating over 20 sub-systems into the intelligent control tower platform.
The intelligent control tower and use cases help community services operations to manage their geographically diverse portfolios as one smart city.
IoT+ as-a-Service integrates data from various sources to achieve tangible business benefits, like increased productivity, efficiency, safety, and profitability. It connects IoT and operation technology (OT) with other IT systems in a scalable, hyper-automated Saudi-based cloud platform.
These deployments will be accessible to organizations in Saudi Arabia, spanning smart cities, manufacturing, utilities, supply chain, healthcare, retail, banking, and more. IoT-as-a-Service will be offered via subscription, catering to organizations of all sizes, particularly small and medium enterprises.
“We are excited for our collaboration with Sutherland through this MoU to localize smart city hyper automation as a service, which will play a role in the growth of the digital services ecosystem.”
